unplanned beach date
This summer, my girlfriend and I have been busy searching for a new place to live. We would need to move out of our current place in the fall so we’ve been visiting potential apartments. Two weeks ago, on my day off, we were suddenly invited to tour one that was walking distance to a beach.
I was excited to spend some time at the beach so I visited my girlfriend on her lunch break, hung out at the beach by myself while waiting for her to finish work, then made my way back so we could go see the apartment together. I brought a book to read while I was at the beach but I ended up just taking some photos and relaxing.
The apartment we saw wasn’t too bad but it also wasn’t perfect. The location was great because it’s close to the beach and my girlfriend’s job, but it’s further from mine. There were enough rooms for all of us (we’re moving with 2 other people) but the space was overall too cramped. The worst downside for me though was the fact that we would have to haul our dirty clothes outside and walk to the side of the building to access the laundry room. There is no way I’m doing that in the middle of winter.
Despite the disappointing apartment tour, we still had a great day. We decided to walk back to the beach and have a picnic dinner. I bought us a big gyro meal to share from a nearby Greek restaurant. We carried it to a nice spot where we could eat and watch the water at the same time. After, we sat on the sand with our shoes and socks off to let the water cool off our feet. We also collected some rocks to display in a jar when we got home.
i found this nice, quiet, and shaded spot to sit on
i'm pretty sure the barista who made me this was queer
our dinner spread
this pigeon was watching us
that same pigeon getting closer
my girlfriend took this photo of my back right before we went home
